If this moment feels like too much, pause with me.
Hand to your heart.
Hand to your belly.
Let your body feel the breath.
Let your breath feel the body.
This world is heavy.
And you’re still here.
That matters.
We matter…
Hey ya’ll…
I’m tired
I’m mad
I’m angry
I’m sad
I’m also held
and here
and trying not to be consumed by fear…
the weight of this world
and the way it gets so old
as the clock ticks by
and the suffering intensifies
it’s just so much
it’s urgent
yet we can’t rush
we wait with the woes
and gather in the undertows
the currents above
and the currents below
I am greeting these times
with the need to find
all the peace that can be
and all the truths that will help us see
hoping you can give yourself grace
as you cultivate a space
where you can greet the harm
and find your own way to extend your arm
where you can be vigilant and kind
regulate your body and mind
stay focused, stay free
to the best of what that can be
and remember you’re here
with purpose to steer
and as I fall to my knees
praying for our humanity
and the hope that we will see
a world and a way
where each and every day
there’s harmony, there’s peace
till then I keep falling to my knees
I keep feeling these things
with all of its stings
and I hope you do too
this weight is here for us to do
the very brave thing
of what we have come here to bring:
a change to these times
a way to be more Divine
may we stay open to this now
and do something,
some way,
somehow…
📍 Note: Right now in Los Angeles, ICE is conducting rapid escalations of raids across neighborhoods. Reports include detainments without warrants, access to legal counsel denied, and families separated with no notice. Over 2,000 National Guard troops have been deployed. This is not about safety. This is about power. This is about white supremacy. This is about control.
If you’re wondering what to do:
Tend to your nervous system.
Tend to your people.
Tend to your truth.
Don’t normalize harm.
Don’t turn away.
Listen to impacted communities.
Let yourself be moved to act.
I don’t have all the answers.
But I do have this prayer:
May we meet this weight with the strength of our hearts.
May we meet this wait with the endurance of our love.
May we not only survive this world—
but help shape it into one that no longer requires this kind of survival.
If You’re Moved to Act
