Dear ones,
What does it mean to live in a time of unraveling? To stand at the threshold of all we have known and all that has yet to be written?
These days, it can feel like we are caught between the wreckage and the rebuilding—one foot in the weight of what has been, the other reaching toward what could be. The air is thick with grief, the ground unsteady with change. And yet, somewhere in the midst of it all, there is still a pulse. A knowing. A call.
Not just to witness.
Not just to endure.
But to become.
So I ask you—
What is a must?
For you, for me, for us, for this world?
truth
compassion
justice
change
service
ease
accountability
love
forgiveness
sacred simplicity
remembering
honoring
being
freedom
peace
joy
What else? What does your soul whisper is needed?
The more we rely on the familiar,
the less we grow.
What discomfort are you willing to be with
to transform, transcend, renew—
and bloom?
I didn't know my experience was unjust—
until I felt what liberation feels like.
Small sips of sweet salvation,
the contrast to what I only thought I knew,
was enough to know—this is not for me any longer.
I allowed.
I processed.
I rested into the tidal waves carrying me toward all that may be—
for the Highest,
for the healing,
for the harmony never yet given to me.
When I look back, I see
the injustices done to me
and my ancestors,
and all the ways I continued their march—
until the ground shook—
until my heart broke—
until my safety nets were gone.
And then,
I began to see the binds that tied me,
and I chose to cut them.
And now I ask you—
What binds are ready to be cut?
What false “normal” no longer deserves your loyalty?
How might you, in your own way,
choose something freer,
something truer,
something wholly your own?
I chose to cut the cords.
I chose compassion.
I chose crazy, confused, curious, cautious, concerned, careful.
I chose all that chose me
in creating a way to end this harm.
The jolt to the system—
the deep questions of how,
why,
how again and again…
and the unraveling of answers
I never knew I needed.
Sharp.
Sacred.
Sweet.
Salve.
Darkness is our greatest teacher.
Pain can be the catalyst to purpose.
If we stay and move—
Sacred step by sacred step.
Never truly knowing the way,
yet knowing with all there is—
there is a way through.
There is a light,
a spark,
a gentle pull
in the Universal direction
of blessings and beauty,
prosperity and peace.
Divine timing meeting us at Divine intersections,
and those intersections creating the compass
to connect us closer to the pace—
the plan—
the pause into purpose.
But this moment is not just about personal liberation.
It is about the we.
So I ask:
How can we take what brought us here—not as something to stay tethered to, but as the very force that propels us further than we have ever been before?
How can we honor the pain, the sorrow, the suffering, without being swallowed by it?
How can we, as the ones who know, heart and soul, that another way is possible—
Be the ones who make it real?
When you’re in it,
you know no other way.
It becomes the “normal.”
And yet,
in all the loss,
we now do.
We now see.
I get to heal.
I get to choose.
I get to walk away.
Still, not all do.
I knew I must.
And I do not take any of it for granted.
A Practice to Stay Grounded & Curious
As you reflect on these questions, I invite you into a simple breathing practice—one that will anchor you in this moment and create space for new possibilities to emerge.
Take a comfortable seat or lie down. Close your eyes, and begin to notice your breath.
Inhale deeply, feeling the air fill your body, expanding your ribs, your belly, your chest.
Exhale slowly, letting go of any tension, any weight, any resistance.
Now, let’s deepen the breath.
Inhale fully,
and exhale fully.
At the top of the inhale, pause for a moment, noticing the fullness of your breath.
At the bottom of the exhale, pause for a moment, allowing yourself to rest there.
Stay here for a few rounds of breath, feeling the gentle flow of air moving in and out of your body. Notice where your body may be holding onto tension, and with each exhale, allow that tension to release.
There is no need to hold your breath for a specific count—simply allow the pauses at the top and bottom to be as long as feels comfortable for you.
With each inhale, feel the curiosity rise within you, inviting new possibilities and insights. With each exhale, release what no longer serves you, what weighs you down, what holds you back.
As you breathe, consider these questions:
What discomfort are you willing to be with to transform?
What binds are ready to be cut?
How can you choose to step forward?
Use the power of your breath to sustain you through this process, allowing each inhale to inspire curiosity and each exhale to create space for healing.
