meet my friend, Tyson…
Es un muy buen chico (he is a very good boy) and one i feel fate ensured me to meet… however, if not for my friends, the Fallas family, this sweet pup may not have been known to my heart and soul.
Tyson has a rough past and was almost put down due to his behaviors. My friend shared with me that he was just moments from losing his life because he was killing chickens & eating them, which is only because he wasn’t being fed, he was hungry, he was desperate, he was surviving…
so, my sweet and gracious friends made the heart led decision to bring Tyson home with them. and since he has had care, and food, and a safe place to rest every night, he hasn’t shown any behaviors of ill intent and hasn’t caused any harm to the animals as well as the children that are here. He’s just been a real, shy, hopeful boy… i see the love in his eyes as his name is called, i see the relationship he has with his family and this new found chapter of his existence. I see this pup and see all the parallels to people and creation and existence in general.
the things we do when we don’t have what we need. and how none of us ever have asked for such lack and hardship, yet so many have this reality… and the transformations possible when we are supported by love and able to live a life more pure and true…
it took a day or so for this sweet Tyson to open his heart to me and now that it’s open he sits with me, he snuggles with me, he even has been resting his head on my heart, which is all new for this good boy.
i think about the kids i work with in the detention centers & how Tyson & them have such similarities. How they each & all deserve such care & kindness, decency & dignity, & spaciousness & support, yet, those conditions a lot of the times are not met… which creates the behaviors “we” like to box them into as “bad” “unfit” “wrong” & more… what if we could just meet them where the are, access the situation with compassion, & do whatever is within our means to make it better, brighter, more connected to the heart & humanity of us all…
that’s the world i want to live in.
with Tyson - & with all 🙏🏼✨
Another beautiful post Keri! I love how Tyson reinforced what you already knew, already practice and already give every soul you meet. Thanks for making our world "better, brighter, more connected to the heart & humanity of us all…" with your writing!
