Hello, dear Divine one,
Welcome in and take up some space. Give yourself the ease of this moment as I share with you a little Warrior Wisdom on this Thursday—or really, whenever this message finds you. I hope it meets you with courage, a calling in, not out. I hope it finds you wrapped in hope, with a perception so wide, it sees through the lens of curiosity, compassion, and unwavering faith.
A spiritual warrior, in the essence of yoga, is someone who stands firm in the face of adversity, yet is soft enough to embrace the deeper truth within. From a universal perspective, a warrior is one who battles not against others, but against the limitations of the self—facing fear, doubt, and inner conflict with the intent to evolve and awaken. The Toltecs teach us that a true warrior is not one who seeks to conquer others, but one who conquers themselves, mastering their mind and heart in service of the greater good. Indigenous teachings remind us that warriors are protectors of the Earth, stewards of sacred wisdom, always in tune with the rhythms of life and nature.
We are all warriors of these times—each of us called to rise in our own way, to be well, to be ready, and to be centered in our hearts. It is in this place of heart-centered strength that we find the resilience to face any challenge, the wisdom to choose peace over conflict, and the courage to stand for truth. We are called not just to fight, but to honor the warrior spirit within—an embodiment of compassion, clarity, and the ability to hold both light and dark in the same embrace.
Take a moment, right now, to recognize the warrior in you. You are prepared for this path. You are not alone. You have all the strength, wisdom, and love you need within you. This is your time to shine with courage, to take up space unapologetically—and to hold these beautiful, timely truths:
"I am perfect exactly as I am, and I still have great work to do."
Freedom begins when we allow ourselves to fully feel into our experiences without judgment or shame.
We live in bodies that are constantly speaking to us—whispering, sometimes shouting—telling us what we need, what we desire, who we are. Yet too often, we silence those messages. We drown them out with judgment, shame, fear, and ego. We disconnect from our core, from the pulse of our hearts, retreating to the confines of our minds. There, we often feel lost, isolated, separate.
But in that disconnection, we lose the key to our healing. Our emotions—raw, unfiltered—are the very gateway to transformation. When we shut them down, we miss the invitation to evolve. We sacrifice our soul’s wisdom in exchange for the fleeting comfort of ego. But that comfort is an illusion—what we’re left with is numbness, a hollow existence.
Healing, however, begins with awareness. It's in the quiet, tender space of simply feeling—even if it’s just a crack, a flicker of the depth we’ve been hiding from. It’s in daring to meet our pain, our sorrow, our truth.
I remember when my own healing journey began, all from a shock trauma on 7.4.13 that is forever the meeting point of my before and after. The world as I knew it shattered, leaving me face-to-face with grief, PTSD, and the many layers of my own humanness. I couldn’t avoid the darkness any longer—it was all around me, in the people I loved, in the corners of my soul I had long ignored. My shadows—the parts of me I’d suppressed, rejected, and shamed—were no longer whispering; they were calling for my attention, loud and insistent.
To heal, I had to welcome those shadows. I had to see them, not with judgment, but with compassion. I had to sit in the stillness, allow the full weight of my story to surface. And as it did, I was confronted by the truth: I had to be real, vulnerable. I had to face the wounds, the harm—both my own and the ways I had contributed to others’ pain. This wasn’t just about healing; it was about understanding the lessons hidden within that hurt.
I had to wake up to the truth of who I was, who I had been, and who I could become. I had to take a hard look at what truly served my growth, what needed to fall away, and what lessons I needed to embrace.
I had to see. And see it all. Not everyone can, not everyone does. It’s a choice to open the eyes of the heart.
The darkness teaches us. The light heals us. We are both.
So, I ask you: Give yourself the space, the patience, the love to feel the depth of your own story. Sit with it. Tenderly. As you breathe, listen—your body has something to tell you. When you open yourself to that truth, a small spark of freedom appears—perhaps just a flicker at first. But that spark leads to courage, to clarity. Your pain, if you welcome it, can lead you straight to your purpose.
Marianne Williamson says, “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.”
It is, indeed, our light—our truth, our fullest, most vulnerable selves—that frightens us the most. But it is also what will set us free.
The beautiful truth is, we don’t have to do this alone.
While no one can walk the path for us, we can walk together. We can hold space for one another. We can offer our stories as a collective offering to the greater whole. Our stories—every single one of them—are sacred. They are our soul’s curriculum. And in the telling of them, in the listening to one another, we come to understand that we are not isolated in our struggles or triumphs. We are connected by the very threads of our shared humanity.
Each story carries wisdom. Each story is a step toward awakening, toward seeing the light within all of us. We have the capacity to call on something greater—a Higher Power, universal love—to help guide us through the darkness. And though it can feel as if we’re walking alone in those moments of numbness, know this: we are never truly alone.
When we reconnect with ourselves—when we dare to feel, to be present in the midst of our suffering—we invite healing. And in that healing, we become the vessels of wisdom, not only for ourselves but for the world.
In my journey, as I leaned into the discomfort, as I faced the shadows I had long avoided, I found empathy. That empathy connected me to others, to their stories, to the collective heartbeat of humanity. Through connection, I found purpose. Even in the most uncomfortable moments, I discovered that they were part of my becoming, part of the path that led me here.
May we all find the courage to feel, to evolve, and to live fully through our human experience. You are not alone. You have within you everything you need to navigate every storm, shadow, and struggle—to grow, to evolve, to heal, one breath at a time.
