I don’t know about y’all, but I am feeling it all. Every bit of it.
The messiness, the discomfort, the contradictions.
But the world doesn’t often see the weight I carry with the work I do,
I hide it behind moments of care, of cocooning—especially at this time of year,
when grief feels omnipresent, a companion at my side,
Seasonal depression is heavy and real,
and we are all saturated in the ache of being human—
both as individuals and as a collective.
It’s hard. It can really fucking hurt.
But this pain, this heaviness,
is also the medicine I need to heal.
Being human, in a world that asks us to suppress, to get over, to stay silent about
can feel impossible.
But I choose to prioritize my healing,
to lean into the discomfort,
trusting that what feels heavy now can transform,
that what’s painful can lead to something better.
Healing is the path forward.
And healing, for me, begins with feeling—
with acknowledging and witnessing all that I carry,
all that we carry,
and finding the courage to move through it…
The Body Remembers
Trauma lives in the body—in our fascia, muscles, and cells. It embeds itself in our senses, bypassing logic and context. We carry this weight, often unknowingly, and it manifests in dis-ease, habits, and patterns that keep us stuck.
But healing is possible.
Yoga and somatic practices teach us to reconnect. They invite us to feel again, to shake, release, and create new pathways of being in the world. Each movement, each breath, each moment of awareness creates an opening—a space to heal, to transform, to come home to ourselves.
This is not about perfection. It’s about embracing the messy, awkward, and complex. It’s about suspending judgment, trusting the body’s wisdom, and creating balance and harmony within.
Trauma, Justice, and Choice
Trauma is not just personal; it is a public health crisis woven into the fabric of our systems. It shows up in addiction, violence, and oppression. It is passed down through generations, written into our DNA.
But small changes fuel great movements.
Healing begins when we create space—for ourselves, for each other, and for the messy process of becoming. It begins when we move at the speed of trust, honoring our own timing and choices.
As teachers, leaders, and healers, our role is not to fix but to guide. To empower others to make their own choices, move at their own pace, and find their own truths.
Sacred Activism
This work—this sacred activism—is not easy, but it is necessary. It calls us to look within, to confront our shadows, and to restore the injustices within ourselves so we can show up fully in the world.
It is purposeful work, born of love, truth, and compassion. It is about holding the complexities of our humanity and choosing to embrace it all—the beauty, the pain, the growth.
Each small decision, each brave breath, each movement from the heart adds energy to the collective.
May we not play small with our choices.
May we be the healers we’ve been waiting for.
May we trust the divine timing of our lives and move forward, one compassionate step at a time.
Miracles, Healing, and the Power of Choice
Miracles. We all want to believe in them, to witness them.
But maybe the miracle we’ve been waiting for is already inside of us,
waiting to be realized.
I believe miracles are not external forces;
they are the absence of fear,
the moments where we trust something bigger than ourselves—
but also where we take responsibility for our part in making it happen.
Healing, to me, is a miracle in itself.
It’s the act of choosing, over and over again, to show up for ourselves,
to face our truths,
to let go of what’s no longer serving us.
It’s the courage to believe in something better,
even when it feels like we’re drowning in the weight of everything else.
But trauma, oppressive systems, and the cultures we live in can prevent us from seeing the miracle in front of us. They cloud our vision, hold us in fear, and keep us from trusting in the possibility of change. They teach us to doubt our own power,
our ability to heal, to transform, to become what we’ve always needed.
But healing is our superpower.
We can’t heal without honesty and compassion, without willingness and courage.
And we don’t have to do it alone.
Every small act of healing—whether it’s in our own bodies, minds, or hearts—ripples outward.
Every step forward is a step toward a collective transformation.
Every time we trust in ourselves,
we are one step closer to the miracles that await us.
How are you healing your humanness?
As we reckon with our contradictions, how are we embracing the messy, uncomfortable, and transformative processes of healing? Are we allowing ourselves to feel deeply, to shed the layers of silence and shame that have been placed upon us?
How are you honoring your soul?
In a world that asks us to be something we’re not, how are you returning to your truest self? How are you listening to the wisdom of your heart, trusting your intuition, and moving forward with love and accountability?
These questions aren’t meant to be answered all at once, but to spark reflection.
Because healing is not linear, and honoring your soul is a practice—a journey that unfolds, often one small step at a time.
So, let us ask ourselves these questions, let the answers rise from within, and move forward with compassion for ourselves and each other, one small, yet mighty and miraculous, breath and choice at a time.
